University of Waterloo Biomedical Engineering Collaboration

We hope to foster the development of new and exciting medical technology, starting at the student level. To that end, we are collaborating with the University of Waterloo Biomedical Engineering program in a formalized manner.

KWSIM draws on its members’ insight into medicine and pharmacy as well as its network of local healthcare providers in order to provide engineering student groups with valuable feedback and guidance on yearly design projects.

Waterloo-Wellington Clinical Research and Quality Improvement Symposium

KWSIM believes that Kitchener-Waterloo has the potential to be a leader in medical technology. We therefore recognize the importance of staying involved with our local community. Last year, we ran a panel session at the 2018 Waterloo-Wellington Clinical Research and Quality Improvement Symposium and were honoured to receive the award for best podium presentation. We hope to see you at the 2019 WWCRQI!

Local Initiative Consultation

KWSIM is able to exist because of the vibrant medical technology space that already exists in the Kitchener-Waterloo Region. We aim to support the continued growth of this community. KWSIM provides a sounding board for local startups and initiatives to receive unbiased feedback from students with a wide variety of expertise in engineering, medicine, pharmacy, business and more. If you or your group are interested, please reach out.

Learning and Development

As a student organization, we recognize that continued learning is integral to our professional development. Therefore, we are actively looking to learn from experts in the fields of medicine, technology and entrepreneurship. Please contact us if you would be interested in speaking to us!
